Fairgrounds – The Graham County Fairgrounds include the following facilities: Playgrounds, Walking, Trail, Shuffleboard, Horseshoe Pits, Picnic Ramada’s, Ball Fields, Arena, Handball/Racquetball, Soccer, Horse Racing, Gazebo, Basketball, Tennis, Concerts and Dancing.  Most facilities are well lit for evening use. Buildings are also available to rent.

Family Planning – Several methods of birth control are offered to women who meet established income guidelines and wish to prevent or delay pregnancy.  Graham County Public Health Nursing Services include consultation, a physical exam, necessary lab work, a Pap smear and enrollment into a birth control method, which can all be done in one visit.  Clinics are held Tuesday afternoons from 1:30-4:00 pm.  The types of contraception offered are Birth Control Pills, Condoms, and Depo-Provera Injections.  Please call 428-0110 for more information or appointments.

Please Note: Although there are no age restrictions for participation in the Family Planning Program and we are under strict guidelines for maintaining the confidentiality, recent revisions to state statutes require that participants under the age of fourteen that are believed to be engaging in either consensual or non-consensual sexual activity, must be reported to DES Child Protective Services.  DES may then initiate an investigation.

Fingerprinting – Our Graham County Sheriff’s Department will handle all of your fingerprinting needs.  For teacher certification, pickup your IVP packets at the Graham County School Superintendent’s office located in the General Services Building at 921 Thatcher Blvd., Safford, Arizona.

Fireworks – Graham County offers a spectacular display of fireworks for the July 4th Independence Day celebration at the Graham County Fairgrounds located at 527 E. Armory Road in Safford.  For more information contact our Graham County Parks and Fair Office at 428-7180.

Folic Acid Multivitamins – Women ages 14 to 44 who are pregnant or are anticipating becoming pregnant may receive a one year supply of multivitamins that includes 400 mcg. of Folic Acid.  Contact our Graham County Public Health Nursing Services for more information.

Food Permits – A permit is required by any person or organization, including non-profit agencies, whenever food is provided at events that are open to the public, regardless of whether food is sold or given away.  A permit application, including fee of $35.00 must be submitted to the Health Department at least 7 days prior to the date of the event.  The fee increases to $50.00 with less than 7 days advance notice.  Food Safety Training is also offered.

Food Service Inspections – Inspectors periodically conduct unannounced evaluations of eating establishments, as well as markets, day care, adult assisted living facilities, meat markets, delis, and food booths at special events.  All inspectors are Registered Sanitarians with ADHS.  These evaluations are conducted according to standards published in the Arizona Food Code 2000.  In general, when inspectors evaluate an eating establishment, they consider how food is prepared, stored, displayed and protected.  Hot and cold food temperatures are also closely monitored.  Contact our Graham County Environmental Health Services for more information.
