Sex Offender

 

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes A.R.S. §13-3821, a person convicted of a violation or attempted violation of certain offenses or who has been convicted of an offense committed in another jurisdiction that if committed in this state would be a violation or attempted violation of any of the offenses outlined in A.R.S. §13-3821 shall within 10 days after conviction or within 10 days after entering and remaining in any county of this state, shall register with the sheriff of the county.

For level two and three offenders, the notification shall be made to the surrounding neighborhood, area schools, appropriate community groups and prospective employers. The notification shall include a flyer with a photograph and exact address of the offender as well as a summary of the offender’s status and criminal background. A press release and level two or three flyer shall be given to the local electronic and print media to enable information to be placed in a local publication.

The local law enforcement agency may disseminate this information to other law enforcement agencies and may give notification to the people with whom the offender resides.
