CASA

Volunteers

The Graham County CASA Program promotes and supports community-based volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency cases. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are the only volunteers that are appointed by a judge and empowered to stand up for an abused or neglected child in court.

Abused & Neglected Children

CASAs help to ensure that children who are abused and / or neglected are protected and assisted through every step of the legal process. The CASA generally represents only one case at a time, but any case may affect more than one child. CASAs interview all parties to the case, ensure appropriate services are being offered to the child and family, and obtain factual and objective information with which they make recommendations to the court at all review hearings. We invite you to find out more about our family of volunteers, everyday people, who are committed to improving children's lives!
