Candidate Filing Information

Qualifications

  • Each candidate or committee that intends to accept contributions or make expenditures of more than $1,400, in any combination of the two, shall file a Statement of Organization with the filling officer at the Graham County Election Office within 10 days of meeting this threshold
  • Candidates for office must circulate petitions and gather the required number of signatures to have their name placed on the ballot
  • On or before the filing deadline the candidate must file a Nomination Paper, petitions, and Financial Disclosure Statement with the filing officer
  • Candidate for precinct committeeman, fire districts, hospital district and community college file with the County Elections Office
  • School District candidates file with the County School Superintendent
  • Candidates for city / town offices with the City / Town Clerk's Office
  • All campaign committees must file Campaign Finance Reports in accordance with established Campaign Finance Report filing deadlines until they terminate their campaign

CAMPAIGN FINANCE

After meeting the $1,400 threshold and filing a Statement of Organization, all candidate / campaign committees must file Campaign Finance Reports in accordance with established Campaign Finance Report filing deadlines until they terminate their campaign.

Campaign Finance can be very complex and complicated. Please read the Secretary of State's Campaign Finance Candidate Guide carefully and seek counsel if you need additional help.
